Happy Friday! Today we’re sharing a sweet treat you can make (and play with!) this weekend. These tic-tac-toe boards are completely edible and so much fun to make and use. Here’s how…

DIY Candy Tic Tac Toe | Vicky Barone

Supplies: graham crackers, pink candy melts, red candy melts, candy conversation hearts, wax paper, a cookie sheet, and a Ziploc bag.

Directions:
1. Melt pink candy melts in a wide bowl according to directions.
2. Break graham crackers into squares and dip into pink candy melts.
3. Shake off excess chocolate (use a spoon to spread or even it out if necessary) and lay graham crackers on a wax paper lined cookie sheet.
4. Place in fridge to set.
5. Melt red candy melts and scoop into a Ziploc bag.
6. Cut off a small corner of the bag and squeeze out the candy melts onto the graham crackers to create the tic-tac-toe board lines.
7. After each graham cracker is covered, carefully lift each one up to help the red lines fall around the edges.
8. Place back into the fridge to set.
9. Once the chocolate has completely hardened, use conversation hearts to play tic-tac-toe!

Pomegranate Seed Ice Heart Ice Cubes | Valentine's Day | Vicky Barone

You can make these pomegranate ice cubes in any tray shape you’d like! First we did square cubes, and next we made some heart-shaped cubes!

The square cubes are great for everyday use to add a pop of sweet color to your water, your soda, or even a smoothie!

We filled these glasses with Sprite. As the cubes melted a little, you could taste the pomegranate seeds! They added a subtle and sweet flavor.

DIY Valentine’s Day Coasters

Here’s a little mid-week pick-me-up for you and your coffee table! Only the sweetest of words make up these Valentine’s Day coasters. They make great DIY gifts too! Here’s how to make them…

DIY Valentine's Day Coasters | Scrabble Letter Tiles | Vicky Barone

Supplies: cork squares, tile letters (we used these, but you can also use Scrabble letters!), craft glue, an X-acto knife, and acrylic sealer spray.

Directions:
1. Sift through the tiles and create as many four letter words as you can (you can also make the coasters 5×5 if you wanted them to be larger!).
2. Glue the words onto a cork square. We used craft glue because it doesn’t dry right away so we had a little time to rearrange the letters if they got tilted or pushed out of place.
3. When the glue is completely dry, use the X-acto knife to cut away the excess cork.

4. Spray the coasters with acrylic sealer and let dry completely.

If you run out of letters, get creative with a fine Sharpie!

These coasters would work for lots of other holidays as well. Save the rest of your tiles for future projects 😉

Valentine’s Day Cupcake Ideas

Happy Monday, friends! Still stumped as to what to make for Valentine’s Day? Today we’re sharing three sweet cupcake ideas that are perfect for the 14th.

Heart-Shaped Cupcakes

Valentine's Day Cupcake ideas | Vicky Barone

First up: heart-shaped cupcakes! Well, kinda-heart-shaped cupcakes. We have seen the Pinterest hack to make heart-shaped cupcakes by adding glass marbles to a cupcake tin and thought we’d try it out! Instead of marbles, we rolled up tiny pieces of aluminum foil and placed them between the cupcake tin and the liners. They looked so promising! But, alas, it was too good to be true. They don’t have a pointy base, but they can still pass as hearts, right?

Candy Melt Conversation Cupcakes

Valentine's Day Cupcake ideas | Vicky Barone

Next up are these Candy Melt Conversation Cupcakes! All you need to create these cupcake toppers is a bag of red (or pink!) candy melts, a ziploc bag, scissors, a cookie sheet, and some waxed paper.

Valentine's Day Cupcake ideas | Vicky Barone

Line a cookie sheet with the waxed paper and melt the candy melts in a bowl according to the directions. Scoop the melted candy melts into a Ziploc bag and cut one of the corners off. Write any words you’d like onto the waxed paper (make sure they are in cursive and all the letters are connected!) and place the cookie sheet into the refrigerator to set. Carefully peel the words off of the waxed paper and stick them right into the cupcake icing!Valentine's Day Cupcake ideas | Vicky Barone

DIY Cupid’s Arrows

We just adore all of the sweet DIY arrows people have been sharing on Pinterest for Valentine’s Day…so we decided to make our own! We went with a purple theme (thanks to a bag of beautiful feathers from Joann’s) and used some matching felt and wooden dowels to create the finished product. Here’s how you can make your own…

DIY Cupid Arrows | Valentine's Day | Vicky Barone

Supplies: 12″ wooden dowels, colorful feathers, felt, scissors, and hot glue.

Directions:
1. For each arrow, you will cut three pieces of felt. Two matching hearts, and one thin strip (about 2″ long).
2. Use hot glue to attach three or four feathers to one end of a wooden dowel.
3. Wrap the thin strip of felt around the base of the feathers and attach using hot glue.
4. Glue the two felt hearts together, with the end of the dowel between them.

DIY Cupid Arrows | Valentine's Day | Vicky Barone

Give these cupid arrows as valentines, or place them in a glass bowl or vase and display them in your home as decoration!
