Supplies: chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting, candy melts in Halloween colors (we love the “Vibrant Green!”), Ziploc bags, and wax paper.

Directions:
1. Line a cookie sheet with wax paper.
2. Melt candy melts in the microwave according to the directions on the package.
3. Scoop candy melts into a Ziploc bag and cut off one of the corners.
4. Pipe the candy melts onto the cookie sheet slowly to write words. This will take some practice so be patient! We filled up a full cookie sheet of lots of different words and phrases to make sure we got the best versions.
5. Set cookie sheet in refrigerator to harden.
6. Carefully peel away the wax paper (they are very fragile so you may break a few! That’s why it’s always good to have extra words!).
7. Place words into frosted cupcake and enjoy!

Valentine’s Day Cupcake Ideas

Happy Monday, friends! Still stumped as to what to make for Valentine’s Day? Today we’re sharing three sweet cupcake ideas that are perfect for the 14th.

Heart-Shaped Cupcakes

Valentine's Day Cupcake ideas | Vicky Barone

First up: heart-shaped cupcakes! Well, kinda-heart-shaped cupcakes. We have seen the Pinterest hack to make heart-shaped cupcakes by adding glass marbles to a cupcake tin and thought we’d try it out! Instead of marbles, we rolled up tiny pieces of aluminum foil and placed them between the cupcake tin and the liners. They looked so promising! But, alas, it was too good to be true. They don’t have a pointy base, but they can still pass as hearts, right?

Candy Melt Conversation Cupcakes

Valentine's Day Cupcake ideas | Vicky Barone

Next up are these Candy Melt Conversation Cupcakes! All you need to create these cupcake toppers is a bag of red (or pink!) candy melts, a ziploc bag, scissors, a cookie sheet, and some waxed paper.

Line a cookie sheet with the waxed paper and melt the candy melts in a bowl according to the directions. Scoop the melted candy melts into a Ziploc bag and cut one of the corners off. Write any words you’d like onto the waxed paper (make sure they are in cursive and all the letters are connected!) and place the cookie sheet into the refrigerator to set. Carefully peel the words off of the waxed paper and stick them right into the cupcake icing!Valentine's Day Cupcake ideas | Vicky Barone

Patriotic Cupcakes

Happy Summer!!! We hope everyone had a lovely Father’s Day and first day of the season. Today we are sharing a way to take a simple box cake and turn it into a 4th of July treat!

Patriotic Cupcakes | Vicky Barone

Supplies: white cake mix, frosting, sprinkles, and assorted food dye.

Directions:
1. Make the cake mix according to the directions on the box.
2. Split the cake mix into three parts by spooning each part into a separate bowl.
3. Add red food dye drops into one bowl and blue food dye drops into another. Mix well and add more dye until you reach your desired shade.
4. Line a baking tin with cupcake liners and begin spooning in cake batter from each bowl.
5. Alternate colors as you spoon the cake batter into the cupcake tins. As they bake they will create a marbled look, but you can also give them a little swirl with a toothpick before you put them into the oven.
6. Bake according to the directions, let cool, and add frosting and sprinkles.
