DIY Metallic Pumpkin Planter

We found our favorite centerpiece, perfect for the Thanksgiving table. This gold pumpkin planter was surprisingly easy to create and looks absolutely stunning!

DIY Metallic Pumpkin Planter | Vicky Barone

Materials: a pumpkin, a knife, a spoon, metallic spray paint, a short vase, and fresh flowers.

Directions:
1. Use a sharp knife to cut an opening in the top of the pumpkin, the same way you would when making a jack-o-lantern.
2. Use a spoon to scoop out the insides of the pumpkin and discard.
3. In a ventilated area (preferably outside), spray paint the pumpkin according to the directions on the can. Let dry completely.
4. Add water to the vase and try this flower arrangement trick before placing it in the bottom of the pumpkin (if the vase is wobbly or tilted, remove it from the pumpkin and use a spoon to scrape more off the bottom of the pumpkin to level it).
5. Trim the fresh flowers and add them one-by-one to the vase inside the pumpkin until you have the arrangement you like.

DIY Fall Leaf Garland

When Halloween comes and goes, we’d still like to see some Autumn decor that doesn’t have to get packed away with the last trick-or-treater. So, we made this Fall Leaf Garland to last us through this crisp and colorful season. All you need to recreate it is a sewing machine and a pack of fabric leaves from the dollar store! Feed the leaves tip to base through the sewing machine set on a loose stitch. That’s it! Hang your beautiful garland on the mantle, or drape it across your Thanksgiving table. No matter where you choose to put it, you can enjoy it all Autumn long.

Thanksgiving Pumpkin Place Cards

Here’s our favorite detail from our Thanksgiving Table this year! We painted the tiniest pumpkins we could find at the farmer’s market, added our own kraft paper tags et voila! Everyone gets their own baby pumpkin on their plate!

DIY Thanksgiving Pumpkin Place CardsMaterials: Mini pumpkins, metallic acrylic paint, a paint brush, kraft paper, scissors, hole punch, white stamp pad, alphabet stamps, and twine.

Directions:
1. Clean pumpkins with a wet paper towel and dry off completely.
2. Paint pumpkins with acrylic paint and let dry completely (We used white pumpkins so we only needed one coat of paint to cover them! You might need two or three coats with an orange pumpkin).
3. Cut kraft paper into tags and hole punch a little hole in the top left corner for the twine.
4. Using the stamps and stamp pad, add names to each tag. Let dry.
5. Thread twine through the hole in the tag and tie around pumpkin stem loosely.
