DIY Typography Easter Eggs

Easter is just three days away! If you’re still looking for creative ways to decorate eggs, we have the easiest DIY right here…

DIY Typography Easter Eggs | Vicky Barone

All you need to make these typographic eggs is a sheet of stickers! No messy dyes, no fancy tricks, just plain and simple black stickers.

Aren’t they adorable? Just boil some eggs, choose your favorite font, and stick away. The best part is, you can make them say whatever you like! We love the look of the modern black and white, but any sticker colors will do. And did we mention that these are non-toxic? No more worrying about the dyes seeping into the eggs, these stickers come right off with the shells and leave you with deliciously un-touched hard boiled eggs.

Monogrammed Easter Eggs

We are always looking for new ways to decorate Easter eggs – and the easier the better! You only need two things to create these personalized eggs (three if you count the egg!) and they couldn’t be simpler. Your little bunnies will be so happy to see their initials!

(Adapted from this tutorial. How cute are those bunnies!)

Supplies: alphabet stickers, Sharpie markers, and hard boiled eggs.

Directions:
1. Center a sticker onto a dry egg. Press it down with your thumbnail to squeeze out all the air bubbles.
2. Use a Sharpie in a bright color to make dots around the sticker. Concentrate the dots around the outline of the sticker and spread them out as you move outwards away from the sticker.
3. Make sure the marker dots have dried and carefully remove the sticker.

I love my youngest’s nursery because it’s so bright and happy.  I wanted his room to be different than his older brother’s which has more of a primary color theme: blues and reds and more traditional but still fun. My favorite part is that it feels modern but is still playful and full of color.  While I love modern stuff, it can lack personality and playfulness which I think are so important in a kid’s room.  So the pieces I included here seem to be both modern and playful, which created a colorful and happy place for him to hang out.  Of course I included some of my own artwork, as Jack was my original inspiration. However, I also love the U Are Funky piece by Melanie Mikecz which I hung above his crib to pull the palette of the whole room together.

My sister-in-law created a custom pillow from one of my pieces (Monster Mugs) that added a wonderful personal touch. She owns her own design studio that focuses on textile design. Check out her work here!

The Chevron Diaper caddies were custom made by Diva’s Intuition.  She now offers standard diaper caddies you can customize with a variety of fun and modern colors and prints!

Dwell Studio no longer makes the Transportation Crib Sheets, but they have a lot of other great bedding!

Here are some actual pictures of the room!  Since my youngest is a second child, he inherited the nursery furniture from his older brother. It’s a little dated since it’s 4 years old, but we already had it and we made it work! I was angling towards a new and modern glider like this one from Land of Nod, but the one we already had is still comfortable and works just fine (i.e. I lost the battle with my husband). 🙂
