DIY Bunny Jars

These little bunny jars are the perfect way to share some sweets on Easter. We filled ours up with jelly beans and we’re thinking they might nestle in some Easter baskets!

DIY Bunny Jars | Vicky Barone

Supplies: glass jars, white acrylic paint (or spray paint!), a paint brush, white and pink felt, scissors, hot glue, pink and black markers.

Directions:
1. Paint the jars with the white acrylic paint. If you intend to fill the jars with candy later, remove the lid before painting and try not to paint too far up the neck of the glass jar. This will help the lid twist on and off easily.
2. Cut bunny ear shapes out of the felt using sharp scissors. Make the white ears a little larger than the pink and hot glue them together.
3. When the jar is completely dry, twist on the cap and add hot glue to the side of it. Carefully press the felt ears onto the hot glue.
4. Using a pink marker, draw a little upside-down triangle in the center of the jar for a nose. Use a fine black marker to create the eyes and the mouth.

DIY Framed Conversation Hearts

If your kids come home with boxes and boxes of conversation hearts after a Valentine exchange at school, we have just the project for you! Assuming you don’t eat the candies (does anyone actually eat them??), all you need are a few more supplies to create this simple and sweet Valentine’s Day decoration.

DIY Framed Conversation Hearts | Vicky Barone

Supplies: a frame (ours is from Ikea!), scrapbook paper, acrylic paint, glue, and scissors.

Directions:
1. Paint the frame with an acrylic paint of your choice. Let dry completely.
2. Cut a piece of scrapbook paper to fit the inside of the frame.
3. Insert the paper into the frame the same you would a photo.
4. Arrange the conversation hearts in the pattern you like.
5. Lift up each heart one-by-one and add a dot of glue to the back. Place the heart back down in its spot. Let dry.

*We recommend using a tacky glue rather than a fast-drying glue so that you have some time to arrange and straighten your design before the glue dries.

Send this sweet artwork to a loved one, or hang it in your house! And remember to have fun with it!

Rock Candy Champagne

Who says the kiddos get to have all the fun? This sweet drink will make you feel like a kid again (well, minus the alcohol, of course).

Rock Candy Champagne | Vicky Barone

On your designated cocktail table or bar cart, place a tray of champagne glasses and a bottle of bubbly. Put a stick of rock candy into each glass and let your guests do the rest! We used blue rock candy, but any color will do! The clear rock candy makes an extra classy look while still being sweet and fun.

Remember to drink responsibly and have a safe and happy New Year! 🙂
