UPDATE: We made a set of new flower pens for the 2016 school year! Check them out right here!
These flower pens make a great gift for teachers and help pens from disappearing off the desk! They also look great in a little jar or a vase. A sweet little bouquet that doubles as writing utensils? We love it. Here’s how to make your own:
Supplies: Pens with caps (not retractable pens), pliers, hot glue, scissors, fake flowers (options: 1, 2, 3), and washi tape (optional).
Some of the supplies above contain affiliate links. If purchased, I will receive a commission.
Directions:
1. Use the pliers to slowly pinch the end of a pen. The base should wiggle out (or fly across the room if you squeeze the pliers too hard!). Remove the base and discard.
2. Cut the fake flowers, leaving about 1/4 inch of stem on each flower.
3. Add a small amount of hot glue to the base of the open pen and insert a flower.
4. For added flair, wrap the pen in washi tape!
Add them to a jar and give as a gift to your favorite teacher!
A lot of people are heading back to school today so HAPPY FIRST DAY to you!
